Accuracy matters to us
We want the information on Competitive Lawn to be accurate, current, and clearly sourced. When we get something wrong, we fix it openly. This page explains how we handle corrections and how you can flag an error.
How to report an error
If you spot a factual mistake, an outdated figure, or a broken claim, please tell us through our contact page. Include the page address and, where you can, a source. Every report is read.
What we correct
We correct factual errors, outdated information, mislabelled data, and typographical mistakes that could change meaning. Differences of interpretation or opinion are handled through editorial review rather than as corrections.
Our process
When a correction is raised, the relevant subject-matter reviewer checks it against reliable sources — ecological and plant-science questions are reviewed by our ecology reviewer, and seed, product, and establishment questions by our seed and establishment reviewer. We then update the page and refresh its last-reviewed date. For significant factual corrections, we note what changed so the record is transparent.
Transparency
Minor fixes such as typos are made quietly. Substantive corrections that change the meaning of guidance are acknowledged on the page or in our records so readers can trust the information they rely on.
Corrections versus updates
A correction fixes something that was inaccurate when published — a wrong figure, a mislabelled species, or a claim that was not adequately supported. An update, by contrast, refreshes content that was accurate but has since changed, such as a revised recommendation for a new season. We handle both, but we treat significant corrections with particular transparency because they change what a reader may have relied on.
How quickly we act, and how we record changes
We aim to review reported errors promptly and to fix clear factual mistakes quickly once verified. When a correction materially changes guidance, we note that the page has been corrected and refresh its last-reviewed date so the record is clear. If you reported the error, you are welcome to follow up through our contact page to check the outcome.
What we will not change on request
We correct genuine errors, but we do not remove or soften accurate, well-sourced information simply because someone disagrees with it or would prefer a different recommendation. Nor do we alter content to favour a product; our commercial pages are held to the same evidence standard as our guides. If your concern is about interpretation rather than fact, we are glad to hear it and will consider it in the next editorial review, with the relevant subject-matter reviewer, even if it does not result in a correction.
