Cookie Policy

What cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can control them.

Last updated: 1 July 2026

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to make it work and to remember information between visits. We also use similar technologies such as pixels and local storage; we refer to all of these as “cookies” here.

How we use cookies

We use cookies to operate the store, keep your cart and session working, secure checkout, remember preferences, and understand site usage so we can improve it.

Categories of cookies used on Competitive Lawn and their purpose
Category Purpose Consent
Strictly necessary Run the shopping cart and checkout, keep you signed in, and protect against fraud (including WooCommerce and Stripe session cookies). Always on
Functional Remember preferences such as region or recently viewed items. Optional
Analytics Help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it, in aggregate. Optional

Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by trusted third parties that provide services on our site, such as Stripe for secure payments and our analytics provider. These providers process data under their own privacy terms.

Managing cookies

You can accept or decline optional cookies through our cookie banner where shown, and you can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the store, such as the cart or checkout, from working. Most browsers also let you send a “Do Not Track” signal; because there is no common industry standard for these signals, we treat your cookie choices as your expression of preference.

Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy as our site changes; the “last updated” date above shows the latest version. For more on personal data, see our Privacy Policy.

How long cookies last

Cookies fall into two broad groups by lifespan. Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser; we use them to keep your cart and checkout working during a visit. Persistent cookies remain for a set period so the site can remember a preference or measure usage over time. Retention periods vary by cookie and provider, from the length of a single visit up to around two years, and analytics identifiers are typically shorter-lived.

Controlling cookies in your browser

Every major browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies from its settings or privacy menu. In Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari you can clear existing cookies, block third-party cookies, or block all cookies for a site; mobile browsers offer the same controls within their settings. If you clear cookies, preferences such as a remembered region will reset, and you may need to sign in or rebuild your cart. Because strictly necessary cookies make the cart, checkout, and security work, blocking them entirely may prevent you from completing a purchase.
